New Tool for ITS-SIDS Trainers
ITS-SIDS trainers have a new tool to help educate Latino
families about helping their babies sleep safer and reducing
the risks of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). The fotonovela
booklet "Duerma seguro a su bebé" "Your
Baby's Sleep Safety" (English translation) is now available
in Spanish only. An English translation will accompany bulk
orders and can be used for training purposes. The fotonovela
reminds parents that SIDS risk reduction begins before the
baby is born and that the entire family can help the baby
sleep safer after is arrives. Practical crib safety guidelines
are included.
New Materials
New print materials have been added to the ITS-SIDS educational
toolkit for ITS-SIDS trainers, childcare providers and parents.
The Safe Sleep Rules
for Caregivers, in
 English and Spanish,
illustrate new childcare licensing rules effective in 2004.
