Karen Gupton Receives N.C. Perinatal Association's "Baby Bootie" Award
(Raleigh, NC) –The North Carolina Perinatal Association presented the 2007 "Baby Bootie" Business and Industry Award to the North Carolina Healthy Start Foundation with special recognition to its Web Site/IT Administrator, Karen Gupton. Gupton received the award at the Association's annual Awards and Business Luncheon on October 22 at the Joseph S. Koury Convention Center in Greensboro.
The Association presents "Baby Bootie" Awards each year to individuals and teams that provide services to citizens that further the Association's mission of improving perinatal health for childbearing families throughout the state. The Business and Industry Award recognizes the important role that businesses provide in efforts to improve the health of North Carolina mothers and babies.
Gupton was honored for her work in creating and supporting the North Carolina Perinatal Association's online newsletter, hosted on the North Carolina Healthy Start Foundation's website. Gupton was instrumental in the development and design of the electronic newsletter, which debuted in 2003.
"It's a great honor to be recognized by the N.C. Perinatal Association for the work that I love to do," Gupton said.
Gupton received an Associate of Arts Degree in Business Management. She joined the staff of the North Carolina Healthy Start Foundation in 1999 as the Accounts Payable and Office Administrator. She later received additional training in LAN (Local Area Network) administration and web design and web site management, which led to her current position as Web Site/IT Administrator for the Foundation.
Gupton lives in Louisburg with her husband, Dexter.
