New bilingual (English/Hmong)
brochures now available!
(7/06)
-- Thanks to Tong Yang, Executive Director, United Hmong
Association of North Carolina, bilingual English/Hmong brochures
are now available! Tong Yang provided the photographs and
the translation for the Hmong section of this brochure. He also
agreed to serve as the "local contact" for folks who
speak Hmong and will distribute thousands of these brochures to
the population he serves through his organization.
If you are uncertain about the number of Hmong living in your
community, you can refer to the State Center for Health Statistics
Map for "NC Percent Population Hmong by Census Tract." To learn
more about the Hmong culture, go to the United Hmong Association
of North Carolina Web site at http://www.uhanc.org under "About
Hmong" on the left tool bar. The United Hmong Association of
North Carolina (Phone: 828-324-2322) is a great resource to help
you target outreach in your community.
We are very appreciative to Tong Yang for partnering with Kimberly
Duarte Sauls, Health Check/Health Choice Minority Outreach Consultant,
DPH, in targeting outreach to the Hmong community and to the
North Carolina Healthy Start Foundation for their design of this
brochure for our use.
