New education campaign launched:
"The Right Call Every Time.
Your Medical Home."

(7/04) -- The New Medical Home Education Materials have arrived and are available for bulk ordering! All materials are easy to read and bilingual (English/Spanish). Materials are best used in one-on-one situations when you are educating families about what a Medical Home is and when they should use it instead of the Emergency Room. Here's what is now available for your use:

This bilingual brochure explains what a "Medical Home" is and how to use it. The importance of a medical home as the one place you can take your child for all of their primary and preventive health needs is highlighted. The brochure encourages families to call their doctor first if their child is sick or injured, and discusses the rare circumstances when use of the emergency room is warranted. The NC Family Health Resource Line is offered "for help finding a Medical Home" or "for information on free or low-cost children's health insurance."

The first 4 "bookmarks" are intended to help parents treat these common childhood illnesses and to call their "Medical Home" first for help, advice and an appointment.

The last bookmark helps families become partners (with the doctor) in the care of their child. It is suitable for all families with children, but especially for families who have children with special health care needs.
