Female: I'm Crystal and is MY Sickle Cell Story. I knew I had the Sickle Cell trait. My husband thought he didn't. When I was pregnant with our daughter, my doctor asked him to get tested. Guess what? He had the trait too. Our daughter was born with sickle cell disease. I wish I could take away her pain. My advice to ALL future moms AND dads. Get screened for the sickle cell trait BEFORE you get pregnant. I wish we had.
