Male: I'm Reggie and this is MY Sickle Cell Story. I asked my mom if I had the Sickle Cell trait and she said "No." My wife has the trait. When she got pregnant, her doctor asked me to get tested. Guess what? I have it too. Our son was born with sickle cell. It hurts me to see him go through so much pain. My advice to ALL future moms AND dads? Get screened for the sickle cell trait BEFORE you get pregnant. I wish I had.
