Counties such as Scotland, Robeson, Jackson, Orange, Warren, and Haywood work to reach American Indians through specific American Indian cultural institutuions and through general community outreach.

Health Check/NC Health Choice provided educational materials about insurance programs at Pow Wows and Indian Museum and other Native American activities.
