Since 1948, the Annie E. Casey Foundation (AECF) has worked to build better futures for disadvantaged children and their families in the United States. The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation is an independent philanthropy focusing on the major health care issues facing the nation. The Foundation is an independent voice and source of facts and analysis for policymakers, the media, the health care community, and the general public.

Duke Endowment
The Endowment's mission is to serve the people of North Carolina and South Carolina by supporting selected programs of higher education, health care, children's welfare, and spiritual life.

Kate B. Reynolds
The Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust, established in 1947 under the will of Mrs. William Neal Reynolds, conducts grantmaking activity exclusively in North Carolina.

The Health Care Division provides grants to serve the health and medical needs of the people of NC who may be in need of medical care or assistance for financial reasons.
