Lexington Memorial Hospital to Raise Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Awareness (SIDS)
Hospital partners with N.C. Healthy Start Foundation to give safe sleep onesies to all babies born in Lexington Memorial in October, SIDS Awareness Month

Margie Kondo, Director or Obstetrical Service for Lexington Memorial Hospital Senator Stan Bingham, Davidson County Christine O'Meara, Back to Sleep Campaign Coordinator with the North Carolina Healthy Start Foundation
WHY: Kondo, Senator Bingham, and O'Meara will pose with babies in onesies to promote a new partnership. The N.C. Healthy Start Foundation will give the hospital free onesies (baby garments) and safe sleep tip sheets to every baby born in Lexington Memorial Hospital in October, National SIDS Awareness Month.
SIDS is the third leading cause of infant death across
North Carolina. Davidson County experienced a high SIDS rate of 1.6 SIDS deaths per every 1,000 live births from 2001-2005, one of the five highest SIDS rates in the state.
