North
Carolina Division of Public Health, Women's and Children's
Health Section, Children and Youth Branch - works to
promote the Health Check/NC Health Choice program as part
of it's mission to assure, promote and protect the health
and development of infants, children and youth. The Branch
places a major emphasis on the provision of preventive
health services and administers several programs serving
individuals who are developmentally disabled or chronically
ill.

Medicaid and NC Health Choice for Children programs for
the state of North Carolina.

eligibility for Health Check (Medicaid) and
NC Health Choice. It promotes both programs as it assists
individuals and families in need of basic economic support
and services to become self-supporting and self reliant.

with North Carolina's Children - is a coalition advancing
public policy to benefit children in North Carolina.

Carolina Institute of Medicine - is an independent,
non-profit organization chartered by the N.C. General Assembly
in 1983 to provide balanced, nonpartisan information and
policy analysis on complex and often controversial health
issues in our state.

Prevent
Child Abuse North Carolina - aims to build a network
of individuals and agencies across the state to organize
child abuse prevention efforts in their communities.
National Organizations
The
Access Project (617-654-9911) - assists local communities
in developing and sustaining efforts that improve health
care access and promote universal coverage, with a focus
on the uninsured.
Centers
for Medicare & Medicaid Services (formerly the
Health Care Financing Administration) - provides detailed
information on state Medicaid plans, legislation, regulations,
enrollment reports, related White House and department
information and outreach.
Children's
Defense Fund - national organization dedicated to child
well being. Site includes information about national outreach
campaigns for insuring children. Provides links to all
state Child Health Insurance Programs (CHIP) and toll-free
state numbers.
Families
USA - The Medicaid Clearinghouse archives and distributes
reports from national organizations that focus on access
issues, insurance enrollment and outreach. Serves as a
resource for information about immigration issues related
to Medicaid and the Child Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
Insure
Kids Now - national outreach effort to enroll children
in state child health insurance programs. Features audio
and video messages in English and Spanish.
Kaiser
Family Foundation - conducts research; provides statistics
and analysis of health care issues for policy makers, the
media, the health care community and the general public.
Supports a commission dedicated to issues about Medicaid
and the uninsured.
Robert
Wood Johnson Foundation - sponsors Covering Kids, a
national health access initiative for low-income, uninsured
children. Provides grants that focus on outreach, simplification
and coordination related to Child Health Insurance Programs
(CHIP). Links to the Cover

a national event sponsored by RWJF and 13 other national
partner organizations. Provides access to materials, media
resources and data regarding the uninsured.
