What is Baby’s Easy Safe Sleep Training (BESST)?

Developed by the NC Healthy Start Foundation, Baby’s Easy Safe Sleep Training (BESST) is an educational kit and flipchart designed to promote infant safe sleep practices recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).

According to the AAP, infant sleep safety practices play an important role in reducing the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and other preventable sleep-related deaths in infants under a year of age.

Who Should Take BESST?

We welcome health professionals, health educators, childcare providers, hospital staff and others working with parents and caregivers of young children to participate.
